Sol Square is pleased to announce an exciting new art exhibition being launched to the public on Tuesday 24 November 2009. The exhibition will be held in Sol Square, located on Lichfield Street just down from the Bus Exchange. The exhibition will showcase a diverse collection of works produced over the past year by twelve Bachelor of Fine Arts graduates.
The group exhibition will give art lovers, and members of the public an extensive insight into some of the modern contemporary styles of these emerging New Zealand artists. This is an exciting opportunity for the graduates from Auckland’s Whitecliffe College of Art and Design, which is a tertiary institute that seeks to provide a platform for emerging talent in New Zealand.
This event will be held right in the heart of Christchurch’s hottest inner city district, Sol Square, which boasts some of Christchurch’s best bars and restaurants. “It’s great for the public to be able to see such a huge variety of styles, images and methods, and should be a very inspiring experience,” Says Cartel manager Jennifer A. Farren. “Dirty Dozen” will be held in association with Whitecliffe College of Art and Design and The Design and Arts College of New Zealand, along with the sponsorship from Cartel and SOL Square.
Exhibiting Artists: Lucy Atkinson, Sarah Driscoll, Bryany Joslen, Genna Laban Doug Marquet, Luke McDowell, Amelia Rayner, Hayley Roberts, Steve Stewart, Charli Suckling, Gina Thompson, Kelly Williams.
